Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on a mission to save the world in a new season 5 trailer – just not the one you might think. Friday’s two-hour Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere saw the agents (minus Fitz) all stuck in space on a mysterious spaceship where Kree enslaved humans. However, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 delivers a major twist as they soon find out they’re actually 100 years in the future thanks to an aged postcard Coulson finds from Fitz back in present day that says he’s “working on it.”

It turns out in the future all that remains of the Earth is a bunch of pieces of rock after Daisy supposedly quaked it into oblivion. Whether this is true or just a story heard by new character Deke (Jeff Ward) remains to be seen, but at the very least there’s a lot our team still …
