The Marvel Cinematic Universe is on top of the world right now, after a stellar opening weekend for its latest film, Thor: Ragnarok. Buffeted by very positive reviews and a 93 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the third Thor movie made an estimated $121 million in its first weekend domestically on 4,080 screens. This haul places it as the seventh largest opening ever for a film in the MCU, only after The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Iron Man 2.
