The X-Men film franchise has now been around for 16 years, stuff starting with the three original movies then shifting back in time to the team’s origins with X-Men: First Class. After Bryan Singer debuted his movie, fans were excited to see Professor Xavier, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and more on the big screen at last.

X-Men: First Class introduced Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Emma Frost and Beast, while focusing on the origin of the X-Men and their villainous counterpart, the Brotherhood of Mutants. X-Men: Days of Future Past then continued their story by definitively linking the past trilogy with the new series and including past and present actors playing the same characters.
