Sherlock Special Trailer: The Stage Is Set, The Curtain Rises, We Are Ready To Begin

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are going way back to the Victorian era for BBC’s upcoming Sherlock special, airing later this year. In the first trailer, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson don the traditional garb of the time, while facing a seemingly impossible case. The consulting detective needs no introduction, and yet Holmes can’t help but utter his now iconic line: “The name is Sherlock Holmes. And the address is 221B Baker Street.” Sherlock is expected to air sometime around Christmas. 

Power Rangers Casts Naomi Scott as Pink Ranger

It’s morphin’ time! Terra Nova actress Naomi Scott is the first to join the cast of Lionsgate’s Power Rangers reboot from Project Almanac director Dean Israelite. According to the movie’s official Instagram, she’ll play the Pink Ranger, reportedly named Kimberly Hart like in the original series. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2016 from a script by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class) for release on Jan. 13, 2017. [The Wrap]

Meet Auli’i Cravalho, Disney’s New Princess, Moana

Being a Disney princess is a badge of honor, and one that Auli’i Cravalho can now wear as the star of next year’s animated feature Moana. The 14-year-old from Oahu, Hawaii will voice the feisty lead character, who sets sail in search of a fabled island to reconnect with her ancestors and help her family. She’s accompanied by the legendary demi-god Maui, played by Dwayne Johnson. Moana opens in theaters Nov. 23, 2016. [EW]
