‘Pretty Little Liars’ First Look: Five Years After ‘A’
On Tuesday’s Pretty Little Liars finale, fans will finally learn the truth about ‘A’. But ABC Family has also released a first look at the Liars five years later. When season 6B premieres in Jan. 2016, the girls (or rather women) will have graduated from high school and already be one year out of college. Spencer and Hanna seem to have changed the most in that time, with one sporting a new haircut and look and the other a shiny engagement ring. Lucy Hale also recently revealed that Aria will have a new beau when the show returns, while Emily just looks like a more polished version of her former self. [EW]
Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ready Player One’ Set for 2017
Steven Spielberg just hit the start button on Ready Player One. The legendary director is officially bringing Ernest Cline’s 2011 novel to theaters on Dec.15, 2017. Set in the year 2044, the science fiction adventure story follows a teenager named Wade, who finds himself competing in a virtual treasure hunt (filled with 80s pop culture clues) to win the game creator’s entire fortune. Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk) wrote the script. [THR]
Fox Near Deal for ‘X-Men’ Live-Action TV Series
An X-Men TV series is getting closer to reality, as Fox announced Thursday that the network is nearing a deal to return Marvel’s mutant team to the small screen. “We’re hopeful we’ll be able to announce something soon.” Fox Television Group CEO Dana Walden told critics at the summer TCA. “We’re not closed on a deal yet, but it’s something we’re definitely pursuing,” The idea would be to bring characters from X-Men onto a long-running series, with Patrick McKay and John D. Payne writing the pilot and 24‘s Evan Katz and Manny Coto serving as showrunners. [THR]
