‘Sneaky Pete’ Trailer: Giovanni Ribisi Targets Bryan Cranston in New Amazon Pilot
Bryan Cranston is Walter White no more: He’s now a guest star — and executive producer with David Shore (House) — on Amazon’s Sneaky Pete. In the first trailer for the new drama, Giovanni Ribisi plays a con man who steals his cellmate’s identity and begins working for the guy’s family. Sneaky Pete, which was originally developed for CBS and picked up by Amazon, also stars Margo Martindale, Libe Barer, Marin Ireland, Peter Gerety, and Shane McRae. The pilot will air Aug. 7 with other Amazon hopefuls, so viewers can vote on whether the show gets a full series order.
‘Hannibal’ Star Hugh Dancy Joins Hulu’s Jason Katims Drama ‘The Way’
In possibly the final nail in the coffin for NBC’s Hannibal, star Hugh Dancy has joined the cast of Hulu’s upcoming drama The Way. Dancy will play Cal Roberts, the charismatic face of a controversial faith-based movement who becomes entangled in a complicated relationship with two of the group’s members — Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) and her conflicted husband, Eddie (Aaron Paul). Cal will battle personal demons and bold ambition as he strives to take the organization into its next generation. The 10-episode series from Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights), Jessica Goldberg (Parenthood) and Michelle Lee is expected to premiere in early 2016. [THR]
‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Casts Casper Crump as Villain Vandal Savage
The CW isn’t waiting until next midseason to introduce its upcoming superhero drama Legends of Tomorrow. New characters Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) will first appear in next season’s crossover episodes of Arrow and The Flash, along with apparently the show’s big bad Vandal Savage. Danish actor Casper Crump (Tarzan) has been cast as the time traveling DC Comics supervillain, who is also immortal and has spent the past 6,000 years influencing dictators and despots to set himself up for world domination.
