‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Reboot in Development; Will Smith on Board as Producer
There’s a new Fresh Prince of Bel-Air coming to town. Original star Will Smith is developing a new comedy similar to the classic 90’s sitcom. A pitch is still being finalized, but the series will reportedly be another fish-out-of-water story. The actor’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, is expected to begin shopping the project around to networks in the next few weeks. [TVLine]
‘Sesame Street’ Moving to HBO This Fall
Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street? Well, soon you’ll have to subscribe to HBO to find America’s favorite muppets. While Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and the gang will continue to air on PBS, it’ll only be nine months after new episodes first debut on HBO. This new partnership for the next five seasons allows the Sesame Workshop to produce twice as many episodes. The series could begin airing on HBO as early as late fall. [Variety]
Torrey DeVitto Joins ‘Chicago Med’ as Series Regular
Chicago Med has added another doctor to their rotation. Torrey DeVitto (Pretty Little Liars) is joining the cast as a series regular. She’ll play Lilly Manning, a pregnant ER pediatrician who is a little bit in denial about the enormous change coming in her life. DeVitto is not replacing recently departed Laurie Holden. Instead, she’s one of three new actors being added to the show. [TVLine]
