Ever since Kevin Tancharoen brought the Mortal Kombat franchise back into the mainstream, patient fans have been clamoring for a new live-action movie. And they almost got their wish when Tancharoen’s short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth gave rise to web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, discount and then New Line Cinema began development on a new big-screen adaptation.
Yet despite Mortal Kombat being one of the best-selling video games in history, link the series hasn’t always had an easy time getting into theaters. A 1995 adaptation, directed by Paul W. S.
