‘Heroes Reborn’ First Trailer: The Extraordinary Among Us
NBC has started promotion for Heroes Reborn this week. A teaser was released on Monday, and now the first trailer introduces a new group of ordinary people with extraordinary powers. Jack Coleman and Masi Oka will of course be back as H.R.G. and Hiro Nakamura, but they’ll also be joined by newcomers to the franchise Zach Levi, Ryan Guzman and Robbie Kay. Five years after the original series, most of the heroes are in hiding and on the run, following a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas that has been blamed on those with special abilities. Heroes Reborn is set to premiere Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
First Look at ‘The X-Files’ Revival
The truth is out there for Mulder and Scully, but it’s also here with the first official photos from The X-Files revival. EW was on set in Vancouver this June, as David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson began filming the first episode of the new season. And according to reports, Mulder isn’t doing well: “He’s in a dark, dark place,” says Duchovny. But a new case from a conservative talk show host (Joel McHale, Community) concerning a possible alien abductee (Annet Mahendru, The Americans) will bring the two former partners back together. The X-Files returns Jan. 24 on FOX. Check out nine new images at EW.
NBC Renews ‘Aquarius’ for Season 2
David Duchovny is going to have two shows on TV next year. NBC has renewed the actor’s 1960s drama Aquarius for a second season, only a few days after canceling Hannibal. Apparently, the network’s plan to release all the episodes online after the premiere paid off. According to NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke, “It’s driven some record numbers for NBC Digital and helped us reach viewers who might have otherwise overlooked a great summer drama.” The season finale of Aquarius airs in August, then Duchovny will next appear in The X-Files revival.
