CBS Fall 2015 Shows
Next for upfront week on Wednesday is CBS. The network still has a number of series that continue to be big draws, but this fall look for them to expand their lineup from procedurals a little bit. Drama and comedy renewals included 2 Broke Girls (returning midseason), The Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, CSI: Cyber, Elementary, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mike & Molly (returning midseason), Mom, NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Odd Couple (returning midseason), Person of Interest (returning midseason) and Scorpion.
CSI will air a two-hour movie on Sunday, Sept. 27 to end the series’ 15-year run. William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger and more original cast members are returning for the special event to bid the show a fond farewell.

Supergirl
Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist, Glee) escaped amid its destruction years ago with her famous cousin. Now at the age 24, she finally embraces her superhuman abilities to be the hero she was always meant to be.
Also stars Calista Flockhart (Brothers & Sisters, Ally McBeal), Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy), David Harewood (Homeland), Mehcad Brooks (Necessary Roughness, True Blood). Written by executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg. Executive produced y Sarah Schechter. Directed by Glen Winter.
The series will air Mondays at 8pm, starting Oct. 26 at 8:30pm.
Limitless on CBS
Picking up post the events of the film, a man discovers the power of a mysterious drug which allows him to access 100% of his brain, and he is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities for good.
Also stars Bradley Cooper (recurring), Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter), Hill Harper, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. Craig Sweeny serves as writer and executive producer. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips, Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley, Tom Forman also executive produce with director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man).
The series will air Tuesdays at 10pm, starting Sept. 22.
Code Black on CBS
Inspired by the award-winning documentary, this medical drama is set in the busiest and most notorious ER in the nation where the extraordinary staff confront a challenged system in order to protect their ideals and the patients who need them the most.
Cast includes Marcia Gay Harden (The Newsroom), Bonnie Somerville, Raza Jaffrey, Luis Guzman, Melanie Kannokada, Harry M. Ford, Ben Hollingsworth, William Allen Young. Michael Seitzman serves as writer and executive producer. Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Linda Goldstein-Knowlton, Ryan McGarry also executive produce with director David Semel.
The series will air Wednesdays at 10pm, starting Sept. 30.
Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders on CBS
Focuses on a division of the FBI that helps American citizens who find themselves in danger abroad.
Cast includes Gary Sinise (CSI: NY), Daniel Henney, Tyler James. Erica Messer serves as writer and executive producer. Mark Gordon, Erica Messer, Nick Pepper also executive produced with director Glenn Kershaw.
The series will air in 2016.
Rush Hour on CBS
A stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer is assigned to a case in Los Angeles where he’s forced to work with a cocky African-American LAPD officer who has no interest in a partner.
Cast includes Justin Hires, Jon Foo, Aimee Garcia, Wendie Malick. Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick serve as writers and executive produce. Arthur Sarkissian, Brett Ratner, Jeff Ingold and director Jon Turteltaub also executive produce.
The series will air in 2016.
New CBS Comedies
Life in Pieces on CBS
A comedy about one family told through the separate stories of its different family members.
Cast includes Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett, Giselle Eisenberg. Justin Adler serves as writer and executive producer. Aaron Kaplan also executive produces with director Jason Winer.
The series will start Mondays at 8:30pm on Sept. 21 and then move to Thursdays at 8:30pm in November.
Angel from Hell on CBS
When Amy enters Allison’s life and claims to be her guardian angel, they form an unlikely friendship and Allison can’t be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts.
Also stars Jane Lynch (Glee), Maggie Lawson, Kyle Bornheimer, Kevin Pollak. Written by Tad Quill. Directed by Don Scardino.
The series will air Thursdays at 9:30pm, starting Nov. 05.

It’s hard to pick a standout when all of the promo posters make every show look identical. Wesley Snipes’ show looks like it could be the most fun.
Hmm. I mean promo art is promo art, but I think they did a good job distinguishing them. The Player and Game of Silence though are definitely tied for worst promo art. I think FOX and ABC did a better job.
ABC definitely seems to be gearing up to dominate. They’re in a better position than NBC, at least.
Promo art has just become generic over the past few years.
