FOX Fall 2015 Shows
Second is FOX, which didn’t have a very good season save Empire, but it’s going to get a lot better thanks to a few new series. Renewals included Bob’s Burgers, Bones, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Empire, Family Guy, Gotham, The Last Man on Earth, New Girl, The Simpsons and Sleepy Hollow.

Scream Queens on FOX
Award-winning executive producers Ryan Murphy (GLEE, American Horror Story), Brad Falchuk (GLEE, American Horror Story) and Ian Brennan (GLEE) meld comedy, mystery and horror in Scream Queens. All hell is about to break loose for the Kappa House sisters of Wallace University when a murder takes place, exactly 20 years after a mysterious death originally rocked their college campus. With at least one casualty each week until the mystery is solved, anyone could be the next victim – or the murderer.
The super-charged anthology series is a modern take on the classic whodunit with a killer cast, including Emma Roberts (American Horror Story, Scream 4), Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, True Lies), Lea Michele (GLEE), Oliver Hudson (Nashville, Rules of Engagement), Keke Palmer (Akeela and the Bee, Masters of Sex), Abigail Breslin (Zombieland, Little Miss Sunshine), Skyler Samuels (American Horror Story, The Nine Lives of Chloe King) and guest stars Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas (Kingdom), among others.
The series will air Tuesdays at 10pm, starting Sept. 22.
Minority Report on FOX
Ten years after the end of Pre-crime in DC, one of the three Pre-cogs (Stark Sands, Inside Llewyn Davis) struggles to lead a ‘normal’ human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future, when he meets a detective (Meagan Good, Deception) who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.
The series also stars Wilmer Valderrama (That 70s Show), Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall. Max Borenstein (Godzilla, 2014) will write and executive produce. Steven Spielberg, Kevin Falls (showrunner, Franklin & Bash), Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will also executive produce with director Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones, Shameless).
The series will air Mondays at 9pm, starting Sept. 21.
Rosewood on FOX
This investigative series centers around the brilliant Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Morris Chestnut), the top private pathologist in all of Miami. As owner of one of the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art independent labs in the country, he finds the secrets in bodies that others usually miss. Despite being constantly surrounded by death Rosewood is obsessed with life and savors every moment. His eternal optimism will frustrate the cynical female detective (Jaina Lee Ortiz) he often works with, but she can’t argue with the results that his unique perspective provides.
The series also stars Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle and Maggie Elizabeth Jones. Todd Harthan created the series and will executive produce with Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and director Richard Shepard (Girls, Salem).
The series will air Wednesdays at 8pm, starting Sept. 23.
Lucifer on FOX
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer (Tom Ellis, EastEnders) resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Based on the characters from DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint.
The series also stars Lauren German (Chicago Fire), Rachael Harris, DB Woodside (Suits, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Lesley-Ann Brandt, Nicholas Gonzalez and Scarlett Estevez. Tom Kapinos will write and executive produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ildy Modrovich are also executive producing with director Len Wiseman (Total Recall, Underworld).
The series will air in 2016.
The Frankenstein Code on FOX
Jimmy Pritchard (Rob Kazinsky), a morally corrupt retired cop, is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Pritchard will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose.
The series also stars Dilshad Vadsaria, Adhir Kalyan, Tim DeKay and Ciara Bravo. Rand Ravich (Life) will write and executive produce. Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24, The X-Files) and director Michael Cuesta (Kill the Messenger, Homeland) will also executive produce.
The series will air in 2016.
The X-Files on FOX
Thirteen years after the original series run, FOX has ordered the next mind-bending chapter of The X-Files, a thrilling, six-episode event series which will be helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. The event series will also star Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis. Writers Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong are confirmed to return.
The X-Files debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10pm ET/7pm PT), following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8pm ET/PT).
New FOX Comedies
The Grinder on FOX
Rob Lowe stars as beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson (aka “The Grinder”), with Fred Savage starring as his brother, Stewart. When his long-running hit series comes to an end, he finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small home town thinking he has the experience to take over his family’s law firm. Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel will write and executive produce. Nicholas Stoller and director Jake Kasdan will also executive produce.
The series will air Tuesdays at 9pm, starting Sept. 29.
Grandfathered on FOX
A longtime bachelor’s life (John Stamos, Full House) is upended when he discovers he’s a father – and a grandfather. The series also stars Josh Peck, Paget Brewster, Christina Milian, Kelly Jenrette and Ravi Patel. Danny Chun will write and executive produce. Dan Fogelman and director Chris Koch will also executive produce.
The series will air Tuesdays at 8pm, starting Sept. 29.
The Guide to Surviving Life
A single camera comedy that celebrates the mistakes and misadventures we all make during the years after college, before settling down. The series stars Jack Cutmore-Scott, Meaghan Rath (Being Human), James Earl, Charlie Saxton, Justin Bartha and Maureen Sebastian. Jay Lacopo will write and executive produce. Gail Berman, Bill Callahan and director James Griffiths will also executive produce.
The series will air in 2016.

It’s hard to pick a standout when all of the promo posters make every show look identical. Wesley Snipes’ show looks like it could be the most fun.
Hmm. I mean promo art is promo art, but I think they did a good job distinguishing them. The Player and Game of Silence though are definitely tied for worst promo art. I think FOX and ABC did a better job.
ABC definitely seems to be gearing up to dominate. They’re in a better position than NBC, at least.
Promo art has just become generic over the past few years.
