‘X-Files’ Writers Glen Morgan and James Wong Returning for Revival
It wouldn’t be a proper X-Files revival without two of the people who first made the series a hit more than twenty years ago. Former X-Files writer-producers Glen Morgan and James Wong are now confirmed to return for Fox’s six-episode event series due out next year. The duo, known for episodes like Beyond the Sea, Home, and Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man, will write and direct one episode apiece, with Morgan also onboard to executive produce alongside creator Chris Carter. David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis are set to begin filming the revival this summer in Vancouver. [TVLine]
Hollywood Drama From ‘Suits’ Creator Gets Pilot Order
1940s Los Angeles was a time of great change for the entertainment industry, when film production was at its peak and a new movie star was born every minute. USA Network hopes to take viewers to that world with their new period drama Paradise Pictures from Suits creator Aaron Korsh and writer Rick Muirragui. The network has given a pilot order to the drama, which follows ambitious people in 1940s Hollywood facing the end of studio monopolies, the blacklist and the new disruptive technology of television on their way to the top. Muirragui will write the script and executive produce with Korsh. This is the third pilot in contention for USA, joining Falling Water and Shooter. [THR]
