Joss Whedon is out, and Joe and Anthony Russo are officially in for Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2, the third and fourth Avengers films that will shoot back-to-back in 2016. The Russo brothers have already directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and are currently hard at work on its sequel Captain America: Civil War. The two-part event, which ends Phase 3, will debut on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019. [Marvel]
Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund are set to return for Tron 3. The two actors will reunite with director Joseph Kosinski for the upcoming Tron: Legacy sequel, which is expected to begin shooting this fall in Vancouver. No plot details have been released thus far, but the 2010 film left off with Sam (Hedlund) and Quorra (Wilde) entering the real world after defeating the hacking program CLU. The new film should premiere in theaters in 2017. [THR]
Another major Boy Meets World character is heading to Girl Meets World for season 2. Anthony Tyler Quinn will reprise his role as Jonathan Turner, who taught Cory, Topanga and Shawn at John Adams High in the original series. He’ll first appear in the episode titled ‘Girl Meets the New Teacher.’ Also set to join him in season 2 are Will Friedle as Eric Matthews, Trina McGee-Davis as Angela Moore and Blake Clark as Shawn’s late father Chet.
