Two more The X-Files stars will hopefully be returning for Fox’s 6-episode revival to air next year. According to David Duchovny on CBS’ Late Show, William B. Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man) and Mitch Pileggi (FBI assistant director Walter Skinner) are in talks to reprise their iconic rules this June. Meanwhile, Davis’ has confirmed the news, even though his character died in the original series, by teasing, “As they say, no one ever dies on The X-Files.” [EW, CTVNews]
2015 is now officially the year of the TV revival, as ABC is developing a reboot of The Muppet Show. The network has ordered a pilot presentation that will reportedly be shown at this year’s May upfronts. Bill Prady (The Big Bang Theory) is co-writing and executive producing with Bob Kushell (Anger Management), who will serve as showrunner, with Randall Einhorn (Wilfred) attached to direct. If all goes well, the project could get a straight-to-series pickup. [THR]
