Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) is a wanted man. Even before the Scotsman eluded Captain ‘Black Jack’ Randall (Tobias Menzies) last week at Fort William, pilule he was already well known across the land for escaping the sadistic Redcoat when the English tried to take his home. And there’s been a price on his head since that day — but in this week’s episode of Outlander, someone comes around who might finally be able to take it off.

The only problem, as Claire (Caitriona Balfe) reminds Jamie, is that the Duke of Sandringham is a close ally of ‘Black Jack’ Randall. So he probably can’t be trusted, even though the duke denies even knowing the captain. Yet Jamie is desperate to live a peaceful life with Claire, so he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
