William Petersen is making the move to Manhattan. The CSI star has joined the second season of WGN America’s period drama as a series regular. He’ll play Colonel Emmett Darrow, the new enigmatic ranking military officer at Los Alamos. As a deeply religious and patriotic man, Darrow feels called by God to usher in the atomic future, and to spread American values across the globe. With only five episodes left this year, History has renewed Vikings for a fourth season. Norse king Ragnar Lothbrok and his band of brothers will be back in early 2016 to slay even more enemies on their way to conquering most of England. Ranked as the top cable series on Thursday nights, Vikings stars Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, and Katheryn Winnick. The next season begins filming in Ireland this spring. [TVLine]
Get ready to see sparks fly in next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse as director Bryan Singer has announced that Jubilee will join the team. To be played by newcomer Lana Condor, Jubilee is known for being able to shoot pyrotechnic plasma from her hands. The character is the latest addition to the film series, which recently cast Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner). [TheWrap]
Another day, another TV revival. NBC has ordered a 13-episode sequel series to the ’90s sitcom Coach, with Craig T. Nelson reprising his role. Eighteen years later, Coach Hayden Fox has retired from coaching. He’s called back to become assistant coach to his own son, who is the new head coach at an Ivy league school in Pennsylvania that is just starting up a new team.
