The truth is out there, and now it’s here. Following months of speculation, Fox has ordered a six-episode event series of The X-Files. Creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are returning thirteen years after the original series ended for the next chapter in the lives of FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. No other cast members have been announced, but Mitch Pileggi has reportedly been asked to reprise his role as Assistant Director Walter Skinner. Production is scheduled to begin this summer. [Fox]

Jesse-Eisenberg-Lex-Luthor-Batman-vs-Superman

Director Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is a film that remains shrouded in mystery, but now another piece of the puzzle has been revealed. EW has released the first look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and he’s just as bald as fans would expect. Yet Eisenberg won’t be playing the same supervillain from the comics, because this Luthor will instead be a young, tech genius. The film opens on March 25, 2016. [EW]

Steven Spielberg - Ready Player One

Steven Spielberg will return to the science fiction genre for his next film Ready Player One. Based on the popular YA novel by Ernest Cline, the Warner Bros project has been in development since before the book even released in stores. Zak Penn wrote the script, which centers on the virtual worlds of OASIS where teen Wade Watts hopes to solve 20th century pop culture clues and win the game creator’s entire company. [Deadline]

Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6) will direct the film, which brings back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin.
