First Look at Melissa Benoist as Supergirl
She’s ready to save the day! Warner Bros. has released the first photo of Supergirl star Melissa Benoist all suited up for new CBS series from Greg Berlanti. The noticeably darker and less revealing costume was designed by Colleen Atwood, who also did the costumes for The Flash and Arrow. In a statement, Atwood revealed her inspiration: “I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today.” [TVLine]
NBC Sets Summer Premiere Dates for ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Aquarius’
This summer just got a whole lot better. NBC announced premiere dates today for two of its highly anticipated dramas. Hannibal with Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy and guest star Gillian Anderson will return for its third season on June 4th. While new series Aquarius, starring Anderson’s The X-Files co-star David Duchovny as a police sergeant chasing down Charles Manson, will debut with a two-hour premiere a week earlier on May 28th. ‘The Lying Game’ Star Alexandra Chando Joins The CW’s ‘Dead People’
Alexandra Chando will soon be brought back to life on The CW’s Dead People pilot. The former The Lying Game star, who recently guest starred on Hindsight, has landed the female lead opposite her old Rockville CA co-star, Andrew J. West. From Californication creator Tom Kapinos, the drama follows a down-on-his-luck cab driver (West) who suddenly has the ability to interact with ghosts, including the ex-wife (Chando) he has never gotten over. ‘Reign’ Alum Alan Van Sprang to Star in The CW’s ‘Cheerleader Death Squad’
After ruling as the King of France on Reign, Alan Van Sprang should have no problem leading three teenage girls on The CW’s Cheerleader Death Squad. The drama pilot, from Marc Cherry, Neal Baer and Dan Truly, follows a disgraced CIA agent-turned-teacher who trains a few of his students (Abbie Cobb, Gia Mantegna and Pepi Sonuga) to be his eyes and ears into the world of espionage and help him earn his way back into the agency.
