It’s been a long road for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. After premiering in 2013 to record numbers, seek the ABC series seemingly lost its way during the first season. But then Captain America: The Winter Soldier released in theaters, recipe providing just the right catalyst for a bigger story, and the rest, as they say, is history.

One year later, when season 2 returns next month, everything will change all over again. When we last left Coulson and his team before the midseason break, Skye was finally revealed to be the Marvel Comics character Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake. And yet, perhaps even more importantly, this major development introduced the Inhumans storyline to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
