‘The Walking Dead’ Spinoff Gets Greenlight
Can’t get enough of The Walking Dead? AMC has ordered a pilot for a companion series to the zombie hit. The untitled project will take place in the same universe, but be set in a new location with a new cast. The pilot from Executive Producer Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy) is expected to go into production later this year, and Erickson has already been tapped as showrunner should the series get picked up. The Walking Dead returns Oct. 12. [EW]

‘Arrow’ Casts ‘Carrie Diaries’ Austin Butler
Someone is getting a new love interest on Arrow. Life Unexpected and Carrie Diaries alum Austin Butler has landed a recurring role as Chase, a DJ who manages to entice and attract miss Thea Queen. He’ll first appear in episode seven of season 3. Interestingly, we last saw Oliver’s younger sister disappear with her father Malcolm Merlyn, so this news could mean she’s finally back in town. The series returns Oct. 8 at 8PM on The CW. [THR]
Peter Gallagher Heads to ‘Law & Order: SVU’
It looks like ol’ eyebrows has found a new gig. The O.C. and Covert Affairs actor Peter Gallagher is recurring on Law & Order: SVU for its upcoming 16th season. He’ll play Deputy Chief William Dodds, the charismatic and tough boss of all the SVU units in New York City. The long-running drama returns Sept. 24 at 9PM on NBC. [TVLine]
‘Constantine’ Casts The Spectre
Another DC Comics favorite will show up this fall on Constantine. NBC has cast Irish actor Emmett Scanlan (The Fall) as Detective Jim Corrigan, who eventually becomes superhero The Spectre. Taking down criminals in New Orleans, he’s obsessed with justice and doesn’t let police procedure or red tape keep him from putting away the bad guys. The series premieres Oct. 24 at 10PM. [IGN]
