Starz has decided to give Outlander fans an unexpected gift, for sale announcing the first episode of the fantasy drama will release online a week ahead of its official premiere.

Titled ‘Sassenach,’ or outlander in Gaelic, the full-length episode is scheduled to be available for free through video on demand and online via Starz’ official pages on Aug. 2, before the previously anticipated series premiere on Aug. 9. From there, the first eight episodes of the 16-episode season will air continuously through September 27th, then Starz plans for the series to take a winter break until its return in early 2015.
