That Show’s Gonna Last Three Weeks!
After months of speculation and waiting for news, it looks like ‘six seasons and a movie’ is sadly not going to happen for Community. NBC cancelled the critically acclaimed series this past May following years of low ratings, but supposedly Hulu had been working in the background to resurrect the dead show. Now that those talks have fallen through, it seems like Greendale is finally going to be put to rest. [TVLine]
So were you excited for fall TV to return sooner rather than later? Well, don’t get your hopes up too high because CBS has announced their premiere schedule, and it’s going to be a long wait still. New seasons of The Good Wife, The Big Bang Theory, and Person of Interest won’t return until late September, while Elementary and new series Stalker don’t start until October. [Variety]
Panem Forever
It doesn’t get much more ominous than the first teaser for Hunger Games: Mockingjay. Sitting on his throne as Peeta looks on, President Snow addresses the citizens of Panem, warning them, “But if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.” Just what you want from a dictatorship. [YouTube]
Talk about a teaser that shows nothing new and yet still manages to entice viewers. British network ITV, which airs Downton Abbey abroad, has released our first look at the upcoming fifth season, including a rather dramatic voiceover: “The nature of life is not permanence, but flux. Things are changing.” We can’t wait. [YouTube]
I Believe Most People Are Essentially Good
We’ve been a little low on Stephen King adaptations lately. Cue Lifetime deciding to adapt novella Big Driver as a movie. Not to be confused with King’s Misery, which has a similar plot, Maria Bello has been cast as Tess Thorne, a mystery author who is assaulted and almost killed while driving home. She then takes matters into her own hands and seeks revenge. [TVLine]
