The Amazing Spider-Man 2, order the second film in the rebooted Spider-Man trilogy, story hits theaters this week, and a third and supposedly last film starring Andrew Garfield as the webslinger is scheduled for 2016. The franchise is nowhere near done with Sony already planning Venom and Sinister Six spin-offs to flesh it out some more, yet audiences are already wondering who will be the next to don the Spidey costume.
Garfield, for what it’s worth, recently suggested passing the torch from Peter Parker to Miles Morales – the current iteration of Ultimate Spider-Man in the comics. The idea is definitely an interesting one since Morales, as a 13-year-old Black Hispanic kid, was met with much applause for making Spider-Man a racially diverse character.
