Flash Forward (s1ep13): Blowback

Previously: Blackout, the whole world saw the future, Janis was shot and can’t get pregnant, Demetri will be shot by Mark, Zoey saw Demetri’s funeral, Mark’s therapist gave him a drug to unlock more of his FF, Vogel has joined the mosaic task force, and the whole Aaron and his daughter Tracy story.

Aaron and Tracy: The main focus of the episode is Aaron and his daughter Tracy. Now, Aaron alone doesn’t really have his own story? His story is actually Tracy. And I really don’t care. Can we get back Nicole and Bryce? Fifteen yrs ago Tracy visits Aaron in prison. In the present Aaron visits Tracy at a bar. He’s worried the guys after her will be able to find her. But not to worry, because he’ll tell her ‘friend’ Mike she’s home. Then some guys kidnap and put Tracy in a packaging box. Aaron picks up Mike and beats him up to ask about Tracy. Aaron goes to see the head of Jericho at a house that looks like it’s been used in other shows. Aaron overhears the package is going to Kandahar and to get rid of the father.

Janis: Janis is taking prenatal vitamins and sees the obstetrician, which just makes me wonder if the baby she saw would have happened without the FF. Janis and Demetri share some heartfelt moments and she discusses that the baby already exists to her.

Janis: We both have to fight for the futures we want.

Demetri and Zoey: Zoey is worried about Demetri dieing and Mark being the one to do it. Zoey visits Mark to figure out why he would kill Demetri.

Zoey: So, the question becomes, what could you possibly do where Demetri would want you dead? Do you have some deep dark secret worth killing someone over?
Mark: No.
Zoey: Then what am I missing here, Mark?
Mark: Well, here’s a theory. Someone at the bureau’s been leaking information and putting a lot of us in danger. Now, I don’t think Demetri’s the guy, but if he was… I’m sorry, I thought we were playing outrageous accusations.
Zoey: Go to hell, Mark.

Zoey shows up at Mosaic as a lawyer and requests access to the mosaic files in order to help Demetri. Demetri wants her to stop, but eventually relents.

Mark: Lloyd is being interrogated by Mark on D. Gibbons who Lloyd mentioned in the FF phone call. Mark takes Lloyd to his house to walk him through the FF. He remembers saying ‘the QED’ and infers it’s the formula that he had written on the bedroom mirror. Lloyd admits he does know D. Gibbons. D. Gibbons is Dyson Frost. He’s supposed to be dead, a scientist, and stole Lloyd’s research.

In the end: The Mosaic gr0up make plans to head to Somalia, but Mark isn’t going.

Vogel: Listen. Janis, Demetri, if they don’t make it back it’s a tragedy. But if you don’t, it’s a catastrophe. The truth is Mark, our entire investigation hinges on what’s in your head. I’m here to make sure you don’t lose it before April 29th.
Mark: But in Hong Kong you said mosaic was bigger than me.
Vogel: I lied, I’m CIA, I do that.
Mark: And that’s why no one trusts you, Vogel.
Vogel: Yeah, I don’t need them to trust me, Mark. I just need them to do what I say.

Simon, Janis, and Demetri are going to Somalia. Zoey and Demetri argue about her talking to a terrorist to get information about his death. Aaron hangs Mike in Jericho and goes off the grid. Demetri goes to destroy the gun that kills him and of course, it’s gone. I knew it would be.
